The Benthic 5 is the newest and toughest underwater housing for the Insta360 AcePro and AcePro 2.
We really like the Insta360 AcePro and Acepro 2. In our opinion, it performs the best in its class, specifically in low light or artificial light environments. The Insta360 AcePro /AcePro 2 seems far less likely to overheat when shooting in very high resolution and frame per second. It is a very well engineered product.
Furthermore, when an external battery is connected to the Insta360, the camera will deplete the external battery power first. This allows the internal battery of the Insta360 to save the "last" file before it shuts down due to low power . This is a very important feature if you don't want to lose video footage due to low power.
Benthic 5 features are:
- Carved out of a solid block of 6061 Aircraft Aluminum, for the toughest environments.
- Certified to a depth of 9500 ft (2600m, 280 ATM) or 4,200 PSI (295 Kg/cm2).
- Easier access to the Mini-USB/HDMI. Unlike the Benthic 2/3/4, this housing is opened from the back, not from the front.
- Custom-poured sapphire window to virtually eliminate all lens scratchings that can occur with acrylic material. Slight cropping on Extra-wide settings. Must remove stabilizing option.
- Fully anodized. High resistance against the corrosive effect of saltwater.
Two mounting points. For maximum flexibility in choosing your video camera's field of view. - Deep enough for an easier connection to a subsea connector. Unlike the Benthic 2/3/4, this housing is opened from the back. This allows from easier connection/disconnection when using a connector.
- As with all Benthic model, the Benthic 5 can be used with any of the GPH series housing with the Benthic to GPH adapter. This allows the user to place a cylinder behind the Benthic 5 to allow for more space. Under that scenario, the Benthic 5 is drilled in the back to allow various cables such as battery cables that would go from the camera to an additional battery inside the GPH unit.

Sony's new action camera the FDR-x3000 has been making waves in the professional film making industry for very good reasons.
The BOSS system (Balanced Optical SteadyShot) is an optical stabilizer that allows the user to shoot in stabilized 4K resolution. This system is unique in the "action camera" industry.
