360 Degree Mount For Scout and Benthic Underwater Housings

Do you use a Scout or Benthic  camera housing? Get this mount!

We start with a T6061 aluminum billet that is then carved out with a CNC machine and a lathe. This process, while much more time consuming, yields a precisely built custom mount that is made to last. So if you find yourself filming in extreme conditions where your equipment will take a beating, this is the mount you want.

This mount allows the Scout or Benthic housing to be rotated 360 degrees as well as be adjusted up and down.

The square base of the mount is 2.5" x 2.5" (6.2cm x 6.2cm) and has been drilled in all four corners. Use these holes to secure the mount with bolts/nuts to whatever surface you are going to use.The mount is fully anodized to resist corrosion. All screws and washers are stainless steel.

Abysso : The toughest housing for Sony's FDR x3000 /r

Sony's new action camera the FDR-x3000 has been making waves in the professional film making industry for very good reasons. 

The BOSS system (Balanced Optical SteadyShot) is an optical stabilizer that allows the user to shoot in stabilized 4K resolution. This system is unique in the "action camera" industry.  Moreover, the low light performance is the best we have seen in any action cams. Also, the FDR-X3000 offers a 100 megabit rate in 4K/30FPS. The higher the bit rate, the more information is captured in each frame. This in turn allows for very crisp videos as well as being able to pull out details out of  each frame in post production. In our opinion, the FDR-x3000 is the new leader in image quality for action cam.

If you are a professional user and do not have a camera yet, we would strongly recommend taking a look at this new camera. There are plenty of reviewers on YouTube who will offer their honest opinions ( Iphonedo is one of our favorites...)

The Benthic Extension Module gives you more room to add batteries, micro-boards, connectors, sensors, etc. in the original Benthic 2 housing. This extension fits between the lid of the Benthic 2 and the Benthic 2 housing itself. You must have a Benthic 2 housing to use this extension. This extension can also be drilled to accept a connector.

Custom Clamp for GPH unit

This is the best way to secure your GPH housing.

This super tough was designed specifically for the GPH housing. This clamp has a bottom mount that allows the user to easily attach the GPH to our VideoFin Pro or to most flat surfaces. The mount allows for the GPH housing to adjusted up/down and right/left. We use billet T6061 aluminum which is then anodized. All components are stainless steel. Well Made in Florida, USA.

If you're shooting underwater videos with underwater lights, you may notice lots of light being reflected on floating sediments. To eliminate that effect, the video light should be set at a different angle than that of the camera. This clamp allows for easy and secure adjustments if you are using the GPH as a flashlight housing.

General Purpose Housing Adapter

The General Housing Adapter is made to link together several GPH 1750m series (not for GPH 2800m or GPH 10) . Suppose you want to add several control boards and a large battery pack to your video camera or flashlight set up. By adding this adapter ring, one GPH could be dedicated to storing batteries while the other GPH houses your control boards. Several GPH can be safely attached together this way.

This is the extra long version of the standard camera mount stud. These are CNC'ed out of  solid T6061 aluminum rods, then anodized to resist corrosion. Get it as a spare or to add another  Benthic or Scout housing to your VideoFin Pro. These can also be used independently to mount on a hard surface. Nautilux - 2000 Lumens Video Light

Beyond 250ft (75m) deep, some sort of light source is recommended to shoot videos. The Nautilux combined with the GPH 1750m general housing is the best self-contained solution for underwater video filming. The Nautilux must be used with a GPH-1750m housing.

Nautilux has 5 different settings: High (2000 lumens), Medium (1400 Lumens), Low (600 Lumens), strobe and SOS. On the high setting, the batteries will last about 1 hour. The color is neutral white at 4000K using 3 Cree XML LEDS.

We offer two versions: The Standard version throws a 50 degree beam that is more spotlight than a flood light. When the Nautilux is placed into the GPH-1750m, the light beam will be changed into three intersecting ellipses, keeping the center beam focus and strong. This beam is ideal is you want to record a very specific area that requires a very strong and narrower beam. The Standard Nautilux can also be used as a regular flashlight on land.

The Modified Nautilux is a Standard Nautilux that has been machine cut to remove about 1" (2.5cm) from the bezel area and the reflector. This gives the Nautilux an extremely wide light pattern (over 120 degrees) when you need to film the widest area, be for general observation or exploration. This is the preferred version. Since there is no protective bezel or lens on the Modified Nautilux, this light should remain into the GPH-1750m at all time, even when used on land.

All Nautilux come with 4 Li Ion batteries and a charger (US plug only)

Nautilux Standard outside the GPH-1750M housing is only water resistant (IP67 rating), while the Nautilux Modified is should never be exposed to water outside the GPH 1750m Housing
